Arrival at your US departure airport ready to check-in for a flight to Edinburgh.
Upon arrival in Edinburgh, we will store our luggage at the hotel before visiting the city and taking a tour of beautiful Edinburgh Castle and the historic Royal mile. Edinburgh is simply magnificent. We will then head back to the hotel to rest before we enjoy a welcome dinner at a traditional Scottish restaurant.
We will start our day by visiting Glenkinchie whiskey distillery to learn all about (and taste) the drinks that made Scotland famous. Glenkinchie distills the Edinburgh Malt that is enjoyed around the world on its own and is a vital component of Johnnie Walker whiskeys. Then after some lunch we will start our journey down to Liverpool.
Today we visit the first of our golf courses, the Royal Liverpool Golf Club. Royal Liverpool is the oldest of all the English seaside clubs with the exception of Westward Ho! in Devon which was established just a few years earlier. The club celebrated its 150th birthday in 2019. This golf club hosted the 2023 British Open. It was the 13th Open Championship played at Royal Liverpool. After today’s round we will visit a traditional English pub for our evening meal.
Today we will head back north across the border to Scotland And continue our golf tour at Royal Troon. Royal Troon is a traditional out and back links course. The opening few holes are relatively gentle, with a series of short par fours running along the Firth of Clyde. It’s from these early holes that you get the chance to soak up the views. The Royal Troon Golf Club will host the 2024 British Open. After today’s round we will travel back to Edinburgh.
Today we will head to one of the oldest courses, the New Course at St Andrews. Situated adjacent to the Old Course, the New is often referred to as the local’s favorite because it is tighter and more defined than the Old. This is a must play course on any visit to Scotland.
Today we will return to St Andrews to play one of the other courses that has become a staple on a Stone and Compass golf tour, the Castle Course. Set on a rugged cliff top with spectacular views over St. Andrews, the Castle Course offers a memorable golfing experience.
As you return home, you will always have the memories of playing some of the most spectacular golf courses in the world and you will relish this amazing experience and wonderful country.
