Day 1
Departure

Depart home city for Dublin

Day 2
Arrival

Land in Dublin, Airport pick-up, Program Orientation & Explore Dublin

  • Pick-up from Dublin International Airport after your overnight flight and transfer to your accommodations to drop off your bags
  • Welcome Orientation and check in at the hotel
  • Lunch followed by a guided walking tour of Dublin including St. Patrick’s Cathedral
  • Dinner on your own
Day 3
Clinical Experiences
  • Visit to a local clinic such as Beacon Hospital Speech and Language Therapy Department learning about their services and specialities in LSVT-Loud, cognitive retraining, and brain injury programs
  • Learn about history and culture on an excursion to the Dalkey Castle & Heritage Centre
  • Experience an enchanting evening of Irish folklore and storytelling in the award winning Stag’s Head Pub with dinner.
Day 4
Clinical & Cultural Experiences
  • Visit with a local clinic such as the Childhood Development Initiative to learn about healthcare access in Ireland, types of speech therapy services, and more.
  • Group lunch in Avoca
  • Tour the Avoca Wool mill

Day 5
Travel to Northern Ireland
  • Pack up and head to Belfast, Northern Ireland’s capital, this morning.
  • Visit UNESCO site Giant’s Causeway
  • In the afternoon, venture out on a guided sightseeing tour of Belfast that includes Donegall Square and Belfast Castle
  • Dinner on your own
Day 6
Edinburgh
  • Arrive in Edinburgh and check in to your hotel for the next few days.
  • Afternoon guided tour of Edinburgh, including National Library of Scotland
  • Group Dinner at Deacon Brodie’s Tavern
Day 7
School Visit and Edinburgh Castle
  • Meet with a local organization to learn more about autism in the country, services provided, and spend time at a local school for children with disabilities
  • Walk up the Royal Mile and tour Edinburgh Castle today.

Scottish Highlands Day Trip
  • Head out for a day trip to the Scottish Highlands where you’ll see Glencoe, Cairngorms National Park, and Fort Augustus
  • Cruise the Loch Ness and keep an eye out for the legendary monster
