Want to do some personally enriching hard work to support Stone & Compass?
This trip is designed for friends of Stone & Compass who want give back by helping with various construction and landscaping improvement and maintenance projects at our center in Stolat, Bulgaria. The trip includes tours of Sofia and Plovdiv. Be prepared to get your hands dirty and to have sore muscles on this trip as we intend to work hard each day and finish each evening eating and hanging out by the fire pit.

Flights are on major airlines (such as: Lufthansa, Air France, KLM, British Airways, etc) with one stop layovers in a major European city (London, Paris, Munich, etc.). Travel time includes around 10 hours in air.

Flights generally leave Boston in the evening flying overnight and arriving in Sofia, Bulgaria the next day.
After arriving, we will drive to the Stone & Compass Center in Stolat, Bulgaria.
For most of this trip, we will work together on various construction and landscape improvement projects at the Center.
Evenings, we’ll spend eating and drinking around the fire pit, watching the stars.
We’ll take an overnight trip to explore the ancient city of Plovdiv, one of the oldest cities in Europe. Boasting over 200 Thracian, Greek, and Roman archaeological sites, this “city of seven hills” has been selected as the European Capital of Culture for 2019. Sample traditional Bulgarian, Turkish, and Armenian fare as you walk the cobblestone streets of Ancient Plovdiv, lined with restored houses from the Bulgarian Revival period
Head back to Sofia and catch the flight home. Maybe physically exhausted, but feeling refreshed after a job well done!
