Bulgaria Golf Tour (2024)

Today we will depart the United States on our overnight flight to Sofia, Bulgaria.

Once you arrive in Sofia it will be early evening, we will store our luggage at the hotel and have a traditional Bulgarian welcome dinner.

We will start our trip by having a nice and gentle first day before we get in to the golf. We will visit some of the sights of Sofia including the Roman roads, the catacombs and Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.

For our first course of the trip, we will visit St. Sofia. Set outside the hustle and bustle of the city this is the perfect location to start our journey. Redeveloped in 2012 by Paul McGinley the course is now on par with some of the others in prominent European cities.

Today’s round will take place at Pravits golf course. Designed by world renowned golf course architect Peter Harradine, who has designed courses in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and the UAE amongst others. This 18-hole championship course provides a challenge to players of all abilities.

Today’s we travel from Sophia to Varna where on arrival we will have some time to relax before we hit the course again the following day.

Today is the first course of our triple header of cliff top courses, The Lighthouse course. This course was designed by Ian Woosnam and is a championship course of the “links” design. Contributing to the stunning scenery are the outstanding landscapes around which Woosnam has created a stunning selection of holes.

Today we will be playing BlackSeaRama, a classic links course with remarkable views of the sea, the similarity of the course with that of some of Scotland’s courses is there for all to see, but Bulgaria is one of the newest golf destinations. With courses like these it won’t be long in establishing itself.

Our final course of the trip is the Gary Player signature course Thracian cliffs. This course has been sculpted to fit perfectly into this area creating one of the most wonderful golfing experiences. The signature 6th hole sits on top of the cliff with the green some 40 meters below, a course perfect for rounding out our golfing journey in Bulgaria.

After breakfast we travel back to Sofia to prepare for our departure home.

Today we will depart back to the United States.
