Head down to the Caribbean’s hidden treasure: Dominica! Known for its variety of fruit and flowers, Dominica is an small but incredible island with lots to offer. The gorgeous landscape and friendly citizens, however, were devastated after Hurricane Maria in 2017. Fortunately, we can help; our goal is to help the island regrow to what it was before while also bringing together youth from around the world. During this ten day service learning trip, youth will experience a perfect mixture of service and relaxation. Three days of the trip will be dedicated to cultural exchange and service in the form of planting trees that were destroyed in the 2017 hurricanes. Students will work with local farmers to plant local flora and fauna as well as connect with local children to reinvigorate youth about Dominica’s agriculture based economy. During the rest of the trip, students will adventure through cities, enjoy a snorkeling boat tour around the island and tube down one of the 365 rivers on the Nature Isle. Students will leave the island having worked with their hands, hearts, and minds all while making an everlasting difference in Dominica.

This youth Service Learning trip is part of Stone & Compass’ Dominica Sustainable Development Project supporting the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
