This morning head to Normandy! We will start the day a visit to the D-Day beaches, where Allied forces landed on June 6, 1944. We will tour the beaches and visit the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, a moving tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives in the Normandy Campaign.
Later this afternoon, we will visit the historic town of Bayeux, home to the famous Bayeux Tapestry. The tapestry depicts the events leading up to the Norman Conquest of England in 1066. Afterward, we will take a stroll through the town to admire the Norman architecture.
Tonight, enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants in Bayeux and a walk along the Aure River.
Start the day with a visit to Mont Saint-Michel, one of the most iconic landmarks in Normandy.
This afternoon we will visit the city of Caen, heavily damaged during World War II, but now a bustling city. We will visit the Caen Memorial, a museum and memorial to the events of World II and the Château de Caen, the medieval castle.
This morning we will visit the picturesque port town of Honfleur, which is known for its beautiful harbor and charming architecture. The town was a favorite of Impressionist painters, including Monet and Boudin. This afternoon we visit the cliffs of Etretat, which are famous for their stunning natural arches and dramatic cliffs. Later enjoy dinner in one of the many restaurants nearby.
Depart on return flight to the United States.
