Day 1
Departure

Depart the United States on overnight flight to Rome

Day 2
Arrival

Arrive Rome mid to late afternoon
Check into hotel
Enjoy some of Rome’s site and then enjoy a Welcome Dinner at a traditional Italian trattoria.

Day 3
Rome Tour Day

Put on your walking shoes! Today we will explore many of Rome’s most famous places. We will depart in the morning and head to the Colosseum. Afterward, we head to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Taking a break for lunch then on to:

  • Spanish Steps/Piazza di Spagna
  • Capuchin Crypt
  • Trevi Fountain
  • Piazza Colonna
  • Pantheon

Dinner this evening will be in the lively Roman neighborhood of Trastevere.

Day 4
Vatican Museum Day and Street Food Tour

We will depart early this morning to have the chance to be some of the first people to explore the Vatican Museum today and an opportunity to see the famous, Sistine Chapel.

In the afternoon/evening we will go on a Street Food Tour of Rome – experiencing Italian classics and real Roman street food.

Day 5
Florence

We will wake early to depart on our excursion to Florence. Today we will:

  • View the legendary Florence Cathedral, known as the Duomo
  • Pass Giotto’s Campanile, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture
  • See the medieval Ponte Vecchio and Piazza della Signoria, the center of Florentine life
  • Step inside the Basilica of Santa Croce, burial site of Michelangelo, Machiavelli, and Galileo
  • Visit the Uffizi
  • See Michaelangelo’s David

Overnight in Florence

Day 6
Florence

Today, we will tour a local vineyard in the Chianti region. You will have a chance to sample wines while also enjoying samples of Tuscan cheeses, bread, vegetables, and meats.

Later today, we will head to Assisi, where we will have a lovely dinner.

Day 7
Assisi

Assisi, a hill town in central Italy’s Umbria region. It was the birthplace of St. Francis (1181–1226), one of Italy’s patron saints. The town is a UNESCO world heritage site known for the magnificent medieval architecture. Here you will have the unique opportunity to walk in the footsteps of St. Francis, see the basilica and experience all Assisi has to offer.

Late this afternoon, we will return to Rome.

Day 8
Rome – Campo de’ Fiori and Catacombs

This morning we awake for our last day in Rome. After breakfast we will explore the Campo de’ Fiori, a bustling food market selling everything from meats to cheeses, pasta, drinks, flowers and more.

Afterward, we visit Catacombs, where you will have an opportunity to learn more about their fascinating history and how this is connected to current times.

Later you will have time for shopping, and we will gather for a Farewell Dinner.

Day 9
Departure

Enjoy one last glimpse of this amazing country as you enjoy breakfast then it is off to home with memories that will last a lifetime.
