Day 1

We depart from the United States to Rome.

Day 2

Upon arrival in Rome and checking into our hotel, we’ll dive into the heart of the city, exploring its iconic landmarks:

  • Spanish Steps/Piazza di Spagna: Begin our journey at the renowned Spanish Steps, absorbing the vibrant atmosphere of Piazza di Spagna.
  • Trevi Fountain: Immerse ourselves in the grandeur of the Trevi Fountain, a masterpiece of Baroque artistry. Don’t forget to toss a coin for good luck!
  • Piazza Colonna: Discover the historical Piazza Colonna, surrounded by magnificent architecture and ancient columns.
  • Pantheon: Conclude the day with a visit to the awe-inspiring Pantheon, a testament to ancient Roman engineering and architectural brilliance.
Day 3

After breakfast, our morning kicks off with a visit to the legendary Colosseum, immersing ourselves in ancient history.

Moving seamlessly, we then journey to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, delving into the heart of Rome’s remarkable past.

Following a delightful lunch, our adventure continues to the Vatican, the smallest country in the world. Explore its wonders, from the aweinspiring St. Peter’s Basilica to the rich collections of the Vatican Museums.

Day 4

After an early breakfast, catch a flight to Palermo. Depending on our arrival time, either swiftly settle into the hotel or drop off luggage, then dive headfirst into the vibrant streets of Palermo.

Our initial destination: the Quattro Canti crossroads, where perfectly symmetrical facades unfold Palermo’s narrative. Admire the seasonal fountains, statues of kings, and representations of the city’s patron saints.

Day 5

In the morning, meet Dr. Anita Bestler, a leading expert on Sicilian history. Explore the city and its markets, unraveling stories from 3000 years ago.

After the insightful walking tour, relish a delicious lunch at a traditional restaurant, indulging in flavors that echo Palermo’s diverse heritage.

Day 6
Mondello Beach Day

Embark on a visit to the renowned Spiaggia di Mondello Beach. Sink your toes into the golden sands, bask in the warmth of the sun, and immerse yourself in the crystalclear Mediterranean waters.

Day 7
Trapani Salt Adventure

Today after breakfast embark on an enlightening day trip to Trapani:

  • Trapani Exploration: Travel to the town of Trapani, delving into the fascinating world of its renowned salt pans. Learn about the intricate process of salt production and harvesting, gaining insights into one of Italy’s most famous salts.
  • Salt Museum Visit: Immerse yourself in the history at the Salt Museum, unraveling the story of Trapani’s salt industry.
  • Tasting Experience: Sample different varieties of this esteemed salt, understanding the nuances that have made it a culinary treasure.

Day 8

Drive to Cammarata to meet the family. Spend the day, exploring and later head to Catania.

Exploring Syracuse and Ortigia

After breakfast, set forth to the east coast, specifically Syracuse and the captivating island of Ortigia. Dive into its rich history, with the iconic Duomo as a starting point.

Take your time exploring the city, meandering through its charming streets, and discovering historical landmarks.

Post a delightful lunch, transition to an afternoon boat trip, exploring the coastal beauty that envelopes Syracuse.

Day 10

Depart on return flight to the United States.
